New RF Signal Generator

posted Jan 5, 2016, 1:10 PM by Terry Wagoner   [ updated Jan 5, 2016, 1:10 PM ]

In December 2015  added a near pristine HP-8656B RF Signal Generator to join the HP-8640B. Both Wavetek 3002 units have been retired. Also added a factory new Fluke 179 True RMS DMM. This will be the primary DMM and the BK-2712 will be the back up unit.

As I pen this we are just two weeks away from Xmas.  I am swamped with work and booked out now until about 2nd week of March. Want to say thanks to all of you who sent or hand delivered your KW hybrid rigs to me this year. It has been a very busy year. I greatly appreciate your business and your endorsements.

Wish you and yours very happy and healthy holiday seaon.

Sorry it is a DG-1022 and not a DS-1022. How can you trust a man who doesnt even know what kind of generator he drives!

New Test Gear 6-20-14:

Just added the Rigol DS-1022 Abritrary Waveform and Function Generator. This is a dual channel DDS generator that will allow me to perform certain KW hybrid tests and alignments easier and faster to a high quality standard. Those tests include the following:
1. Transmitter 2-tone testing
2. Carrier Set Point adjustment (SSB frequency response)
3. Speech processor and ALC indication calibration
4. Band Pass Filter (BP)F) sweeping and adjustment

It also has a Pulse mode which will allow me to better align the Noise Blanker. I can now retire the "hair dryer", the "blender", and the GM HEI ignition driven "Jacobs Ladder" that were previously employed to produce ignition like noise!

Back from Dayton with new "toy" for the bench!
Bought the Rigol DSA815-TG Spectrum Analyzer. Will use it to sweep BPFs, Xtal Filters, and look at the transmit spectral content. Should make these tasks easier, faster, and higher quality level than before.
